What Others Are Saying

We are so pleased when we find others who share some of the same passions we have. Thank you!

Hi!  I wanted to let you know I received my collage ephemera pack and was delighted with it! It was much more than I expected it to be and look forward to ordering from you again. Thanks!

Debbie Cologgi, AZ

Wow, Wow, Wow!! I was having a rather bad day - dead car battery - but my Twisted Papers package was delivered along with a new battery by my dear husband. Who cares if one can't go anywhere when one has such wonderful toys to play with. I love everything - thanks so much for putting together such great collections. I can't wait to start creating.

Myra Hook, Kevil, KY

Today I received the box and I must say I was very happy. The book is just fantastic, I will not be able to tear it apart.....I just can not. The cover is just awesome I have never seen a book that beautiful. Thank you for making such a good choice. I also love the wooden boxes. One is missing the Lid (top) part of the clasp.....find any stray pieces around? I will try to match it, or put a total new clasp on the box. Thank you guys, I am very happy with my purchases.

Flory Brick, Daytona Beach, FL

I have seen the art which is contained in the TwistedPapers CD's and wish to attest that it is all first-rate and all very easy to work with.  Each CD comes with a complete color index of every image contained on that disk.  There are also very easy to understand directions on how to open these images in your browser or how to import them into your own personal image editing software of choice, these work well on either a Windows or a Macintosh machine by the way.  Every image I've seen is beautiful on its own, however you may import into your software of choice and change it even more....different proportions, different colors, different parts of each image...no limit how you can edit these to your liking.

"Looking For Love" is a collection of vintage art with 171 high resolution images of which 64 are Valentines postcards, 77 are Flirtation postcards and 30 are sheet music covers.  Quite a choice with this one CD alone!  But there are many, many more to pick from.  Vintage Advertisements has almost 200 different images...some are sepia toned, some black and white and some colored.  Library of Original Art, vol 4 is a rich resource of gorgeous art, some abstract and some floral.

Vintage Christmas Cards?  Oh yes!  They have these also!  Images from cards of the 1930's, 40's and 50's....several CD's worth in fact.  There is also one titled "Vintage Winter Holiday Postcards" that contain postcards from the 1900's and 1910's....containing Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year themes.

I also found one named "Vintage Classroom Valentines".  Some of these images are printed on sheets just like the "real" Valentines would be.  There is also a template included so you can design your own layouts...how cool is that?

I found that I could not pick any one CD as my favorite.  Each one I opened was even more exciting than the last one.  Please check out the collection of wonderful images yourself.  I know for a fact that both Stan and Russell are there if you need any help or run into problems with anything.

They also have some "freebies" waiting at their website just for you!!

Connie Piotter of Midwest Stampers Yahoo Discussion Group

One of my good friends has all of their CDs and she just LOOOOOOOOOOOVES the images.  She also raves about the customer service!!!  They are now offering downloaded collage sheets!  So you can use them over and over again without having to purchase an entire CD!

Susan Chong at AskSuze, a Yahoo Discussion Froup

Has anybody had a chance to look at these [Tags from our Background Art at TwistedPapers.com]? They are gorgeous. . . I got some of their other downloadable collage sheets and they are really cool. I like the downloadable format because you can even print it on fabric if you want. Plus I have no patience for waiting for the mailman. I am limiting myself to 8 for now, but I would love to have them all. I am going to have to buy a jump drive just for all the Twisted Papers stuff!!

Judi Foster on JanesLab Yahoo Discussion Group

I was perusing your gallery today[, Russell,] and am amazed by your awesome altered art pieces, they are so beautiful!!!!  You'll have to share your creations with us here if you get the time to do that, I know Stan must keep you pretty busy with all those scans and I know I want your entire collections, I love all your files and think your making them available is just wonderful! I downloaded the collages sheets this morning and they are divine!! They will be in my little creations soon for sure!! Thank-you :)

Vanessa Trendle, Blushbutter Yahoo Group Owner

And yes, you guys are offering so much to us, especially with your generosity in sharing freely your art to all of us out here. For the one who cannot afford the CDs, that you still offer so many free images...well, I want to say "Bless You....Both" /s/ Judi~about to go enjoy...

Judi Midleton, Ashland County, Ohio

Thanks Stan & Russell for all your wonderful freebies. I love your newsletter and have purchased several of your CD's. There are several [more] in my future, me thinks. LOL! And a very Happy Birthday to Russell!!!

Darlene Winter

Stan, you and Russell are BOTH very generous. Thank you!

I just received CDs from the gents at Twisted Papers, and I have to
say right this minute that they are fabulous. Quite an amazing
treasure trove of artwork that has immediate applications for web
designers and polymer clay artists and all those who love textile
designs. Very hiqh quality stuff here, excellent inspiration for canes
or transfer possibilities and you will be seeing more from me about
them VERY soon.

Sarajane Helm, http://polyarts.wordpress.com

All I can say is Thank You! What a wonderfully generous gift you have sent
me to play with. . . After opening the box, I knew I would be showing
my friends what great CDs you had sent. Everyone was impressed just by the
images on the printed sheets and then later in the weekend, I borrowed a
friend's computer to glance through the CDs and again, we were blown away
with the contents.

I'm sure once all of my polyholics friends see how I put these to good use,
you will get some orders. Copyright free images to use without worry if we
can show or sell the products we produce with them is a true delight. Right
now I am up against a publisher's deadline . . . , but
once that is out of the way you be assured I'll be working with your
fantastic gift.

Thank you both again. You are true artist friends.

Issue 17 (April '07) of The Gleaner Zine features TwistedPapers products. You'll find our backgrounds used on both the front and back covers and inside on pages 1, 2 and 13. There is a brief article on page 13 as well as snippets from one of our collage sheets. Click here to see scans of the pages.

The Gleaner Zine is a quarterly "altered" art zine for creative subscribers, produced by Sherylynne Carriveau. She loves zines with envelopes and pockets full of goodies, color copies or originals for collage art, and other ephemera inserts - some surprises are authentic vintage papers from the 1800s! The Gleaner offers all this, as well as, How-To's for creative art projects and selected themes.

The Gleaner is popular among altered book artists, journalers, and scrapbook lovers.

The Gleaner, Issue 17

I just received 6 image CDs from TwistedPapers.com, and they look to be very usable for altered art, mixed media work. I am going to play around with some different types of paper this weekend and will print some of what I come up with. Very nice people run the company. I will keep you posted!

I am so enjoying the CDS you sent to me. Can't thank you enough!

Sherre Hulbert

Russell, you're site is fantastic. What a wonderful job you've done "rescuing" such treasures!!

Shelly J, Artezinecafe Discussion Group

I just rec'd the CDs I ordered from you last week and I am very impressed with the quality of the images! I like your website - easy to navigate and lots of other fun stuff, not just the CDs on there. I love all the vintage ephemera and goodies you have available!

Thanks for everything and I am looking forward to the new "freebies" link you mention!

Casie Metcalf, Maine

I can attest to the beauty and quality of these images. I bought 2 CDs recently and was amazed. Also loved the freebies too! and no, I'm not a paid rep for Twistedpapers! lol

Lin Collette, Pawtucket, RI

I love your site!  I signed up [for the TwistedPapers newsletter] and told my Yahoo group and I know some of them are going to sign up also.  I made my first purchase and know I will be back.  I went through the galleries and they are wonderful!  :)

Marna Kielich, Hurst, TX

This product is the newest craze on the market today. These are CD’s that have Photo Quality images that are perfect for collage work or just to give you cards with that special added touch. In addition they also have printable patterned papers.

  • How many times have you purchased that perfect patterned paper that you absolutely love only it came in the wrong color?
  • Or how about when you find a background pattern that fits in perfectly with your style of art work only to find that the company that makes it went out of business and you can no longer purchase it?

Well the beauty of this product is that you can print it yourself onto whatever type of photo, index, or fabric paper you wish. However, the best part of all is if you have a graphic program on your computer that allows you to change colors on images this company has made it so that you can change the color on every single design on the cd’s. That way you will always have the perfect color for your project and you will always be able to have it at your finger tips, as many sheets of background paper and images you will ever need.

March 2007 Design Challenge

Twisted Papers

This month, we are working with Twisted Papers, Vintage Papers with a Twist. SSReflections.com, March 2007 Issue

I have to admit that when I accepted this assignment I was thrilled at the idea of receiving a pile of new and exciting “Twisted Papers” to play with; I had grand day-dreams of cutting and inking. Imagine my disappointment when I received a small parcel that contained 6 CDs of digital images. My dismay soon transformed into delight when I saw the amazing artwork on the Twisted Papers CDs! I had been suffering for something new, different and brilliant and it had finally arrived.

**Lesson here: don't judge the art by its packaging.

As I opened the CDs, each became more exciting than the last. Every CD was accompanied by a printed thumbnail index which expedited my reaction of “oohs and aaahs.” I received Library of Original Art: Volumes 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7. Each CD contains between 62 and 73 images. The variety of art contained on each CD is a balanced mix of colors and textures, including florals, fabric style prints, bold graphic and retro patterns as well as collage style compilations. I also received a Vintage Advertisements CD containing 182 Images of ads from the 1890's to the 1920's. All images are provided in both low and high resolution and are formatted for PC and MAC.

These images can be used for digital layouts as well as paper and hybrid projects. (Hybrid is the latest trend of creating layouts and projects with both digital and dimensional elements.) It's easy to make custom background papers for cards, layouts and paper crafting by printing a file onto bright white cardstock or photo paper, then cutting it for use as you would any decorative paper. My new library of digital art will be a valuable source of creativity for many of my future projects. Scrap on!

Becky Chabot, SSReflections.com

This month I had the pleasure of creating some digital pieces with art CD's from Twisted Papers. I have to admit when I opened the first couple of CD's I was wondering how I was going to use them. My style is generally more subdued, and the files on the disks are bright, loud and flashy! As I perused further into each disk, I was pleasantly surprised. While there are a large share of bright and flashy backgrounds, there are also really neat floral prints that ranged from vines and leaves to tropical and a whole CD of black and white vintage advertisements from the late 1800's to the early 1900's that I just loved!

As you can see from this layout, I used the Twisted Papers art as an accent piece and “cut” and “copied” the star from the paper to use as an additional embellishment. Since so much of the artwork on the CD was really bright, it was perfect for layouts of children.

The next piece of art that I created was a gift tag for a baby gift. The Vintage Advertisement CD has such potential for creating cards and gift tags. There are 182 different ads on the CD, ranging from baby care to auto ads. This was by far my favorite CD that I used. I will be creating many funny digital cards and tags with this CD.

The third and final piece I created, is a Valentine's Day card with one of the great floral backgrounds I mentioned above. I loved how simple the flowers are and how they almost look like they were scribbled with crayon. Perfect for a card from my two little girls.

The Twisted Papers CD's are extremely easy to use. The CD contains a hi-resolution folder as well as a thumbnail folder for easy browsing. Also included is a thumbnail printout of all the files on the CD so you can easily choose which file to open without having to wait for the computer to load the image files. The print quality is outstanding, all the art files are hi-resolution TIFF files and printed beautifully on my home photo printer as well as through an online print service. Twisted Papers CD's are an excellent addition to anyone's digital scrapping library.

Tricia Finchum, SSReflections.com

This month I got the honor and privilege of being asked to do a review of a company called Twisted Papers. I needed to show how to use their products in altered art. If you aren’t familiar with Twisted Papers, check out their website at www.twistedpapers.com. They carry a large amount of wonderful CDs jam packed with high-resolution images just waiting for you to print out and use in your art. These include eight volumes of original artwork that are great for backgrounds, vintage advertisements, holiday themed images and more. They also carry collage sheets, paper ephemera and a large amount of real vintage ephemera. This is definitely the place to shop if you are an altered artist!!

I was able to work with the image CDs and found them to be very user friendly. I was able to use the sheet of thumbnails that came with each disk, click on the image I wanted and open it up in my default photo editor. Even the novice computer user will easily be able to open, manipulate and print these images. I received five CDs that contained original art. This artwork is wonderful! There are so many different styles and colors; they are sure to inspire any artist. The disks I used contained anywhere from 62 to 73 images on each. That is a lot of high-resolution images! I also worked with the Vintage Advertisements disk and fell in love with all of the great images that are included. There are 182 images of ads from 1890s to 1920s! One thing I realized right away was these CDs aren’t like a lot of other ones I have seen on the market. The images are crisp and clear. They are large, high-resolution .tiff images so you can print off full sheets of backgrounds and not have fuzzy, pixilated images. They are also easily resized and keep their wonderful details.

I hope you enjoyed my samples this month. I so enjoyed working with these wonderful images from Twisted Papers, and I want to thank Russell and Stan for the opportunity to create artwork using their product!! If you do create artwork using any of the Twisted Papers disks, I would love to see what you come up with.

Until Next Month, Happy Altering!

Robin Willis, SSReflections.com

During our tour of Hollywood we are stopping off to visit TwistedPapers, a company with the most amazing background papers and vintage image CDs. TwistedPapers is owned by Russell White and Stan Pekarsky and located in Warren, Pennsylvania. Russell and Stan have backgrounds in collage, book making, polymer clay, and art stamping and are avid collectors of art, books, postage stamps, and rubber stamps.

The backgrounds on these CDs are artistic, art nouveau, and abstract art themes with the colors that are bright and bold. The CDs are amazing and having the background papers right at my fingertips is great. I am very impressed with the variety and quality of the product. However, I found the colors and styles to be ones that I would not have chosen personally because I like designing vintage products with muted, aged and distressed art. Since the color and styles were not what I would have chosen personally, I found it to be a wonderful, personal challenge and experience to create using products that are out of the norm for me. The idea of having background papers and collage images on CD is a great one and there are some advantages including the background papers or collage images can be reprinted if needed, a background or image can be changed at the touch of a key, and having a wide variety of background papers or collage images on CD reduces trips to the store to purchase scrapbook paper or stamps.

It was a fantastic experience to have all of this available at my fingertips and the possibilities are amazing and endless. I hope that you will try Twisted Papers products for yourself because the quality and service are fantastic. Perhaps my projects will give you an idea of what you can do with the CDs and what you can have available at your fingertips, also.

Debi Wind, SSReflections.com

Thanks for letting me know about the delay. No problem, but I do appreciate your thoughtfulness. Obviously I love your stuff. I gave the kids' valentine cd to a friend and she was thrilled so I expect you'll be getting business from her also.

Cheers.

Carolyn, Minneapolis

Thank you for the lovely valentine images, and especially the inside sentiments. I just love the images, especially the pen and ink insides.

Today I received the things I ordered from you just a few days ago. You got them out so quick.
They were wrapped with special care and I even got a free gift. My valentine cd is great and I cannot wait to use it. I also love the Christmas cards I ordered to use to scrapbook my Christmas pictures. The quality is wonderful and I am well pleased.
Thanks you so much!

We received a VOM [Vender of the Month] donation today from Russell White and Stan Pekarsky of TwistedPapers.com

They sent us some Out-Of-This-World CD's bursting full of high resolution images, some gorgeous collage sheets and even their business cards are delightful! They are in the form of a bookmark and both sides are lovely paper patterns that could be used in art.

Be SURE to check these guys out!!! I went to their website and was amazed at the scads of choices they have....from different themed collage sheets to many different choices of CDs full of lovely images. You can see a thumbnail of every image on most CDs so you know exactly what you are getting and let me tell you! These are not ordinary run-of-the-mill CDs....no way! How do I know? Because Stan and Russell were gracious enough to send some to me personally to try out. I've had no problems opening them on my Macintosh or my PC....easy and effortless. They print up just knock-down gorgeous!! I promised to send them some of my artwork made from their images so if I can get moving and get them finished you just might see them on the huge gallery they also have.

They have lots more vintage items. Be sure to check out Aunt Edna's Attic....beautiful vintage jewelry and beads!! Thanks so much guys for your support of this MWS [MidWestStampers] program.

Connie Piotter, MidWestStampers Yahoo Groups List Owner

I was checking out your website and was surprised to see a couple of my cards incorporated in the design of your webpage. I felt honored, thank-you. Your site looks great, You and Russell do such a wonderful job with everything you do, very professional.

GREAT FIND!!

I have recently made the acquaintance of the guys at TwistedPapers.com and I was really excited to find someone else who is putting out quality, original, digital images with liberal usage rights. I am most excited about the 8 Volumes of Original Fabric Design Art - been waiting for something like this for a long time, and can think of a million projects already. In fact, I have used a small piece of one of these images on our Poinsettia Card in this issue, and they are offering that sample free for you to use. It will give you a taste of the fine quality of their art collections.

Digital Stamping & Paper Arts, Issue 6, Dec. 2006

I received my order yesterday and WOW, I was sooo impressed with the way the papers are packaged individually plus tissue wrapped and with ribbons on everything. And the free gift was awesome. You guys are a class act. I will not hesitate to order again! Thank You!

Theresa Forman, Boyd, WI

Thanks so much for the quality and fast service you provided with my recent order. I was truly impressed with the ribbon around the papers and postcards with the "Thank You" sticker attached. You're really "top drawer." Keep up the good work. I'll pass the word on to my Paper-Enthused friends.

Diana Pease, Dallas Area Fiber Artist

How nice I enrolled early in your newsletter history! Thank you for lovely downloads. I look forward to a continued relationship.

Jan Bartlett, Boulder City, NV

Just wanted to let you know that I received my Backgrounds CDs set today. I wanted to commend you on the fast shipment and the beautiful presentation of your products. I felt like I was getting a lovely gift. Thanks very much for the gorgeous gift of collage sheets. It was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Its difficult to get vendors who give you service, above and beyond what you expect, nowadays.

The backgrounds are great and the high resolution makes it amenable for a lot of uses. The entire background can be used or a small part of it can be enlarged and used as a graphic or to make a background.

I read an article about your company in Vamp Stamp News and I'll be sure to recommend you to others.

Teresita Maldonado, Kissimmee, FL

I have experimented with the CD's and find them absolutely user friendly. I am very pleased with how easy they are to bring up on the PC and also how easily they can be manipulated. The quality is fantastic, without any effort they print out just beautiful, the detail is great. I would recommend this product to anyone who does paper crafting, experienced and beginners.

Beverly Coffaro. The Sunflower House, Sugar Grove, PA

The images from these CDs are just gorgeous — they print out beautifully with professional results! I was able to produce a pile of Christmas cards in no time with just a touch of glitter to personalize them — what a time saver.
